Vedanta Resources is seeking an experienced Environmental Compliance Manager to join our dynamic team. As an Environmental Compliance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our operations adhere to all environmental regulations and sustainability standards. You will be responsible for developing and implementing environmental compliance programs, monitoring performance, and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement environmental compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor and assess the company's operations to ensure compliance with local, national, and international environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular environmental audits and assessments to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental sustainability into business strategies and operations.
- Provide guidance and training to employees to raise awareness of environmental issues and promote responsible practices.
- Stay up-to-date with evolving environmental regulations and industry best practices.
- Prepare and submit environmental reports to regulatory agencies as required.
- Lead efforts to obtain and maintain environmental certifications and accreditations.
- Respond to environmental incidents and emergencies promptly and effectively.
- Work closely with external partners, agencies, and stakeholders to foster positive relationships and ensure compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental compliance and management.
- Strong knowledge of local, national, and international environmental regulations.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing environmental compliance programs.
- Excellent project management and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and across departments.
- Certification in environmental management (e.g., ISO 14001) is a plus.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree: 5+ years in environmental compliance or related field.
- Master's degree: 3+ years in environmental compliance or related field.
