As an Environmental Specialist at Glencore, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our operations comply with environmental regulations and promote sustainable practices. You will work on various projects to minimize our environmental footprint and contribute to our commitment to responsible resource management.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct environmental assessments and impact studies to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement environmental management plans and strategies.
  • Monitor compliance with local, national, and international environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into business decisions.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports on environmental performance.
  • Provide guidance to site managers and employees on environmental best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging environmental regulations.
  • Assist in community outreach and engagement initiatives related to environmental stewardship.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Professional certification in environmental management (e.g., Certified Environmental Professional) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed.
Experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in environmental management or a related field.
  • Experience working in the mining or natural resources industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with environmental impact assessments and permitting processes.
