Description

GAIL (Gas Authority of India Limited) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of our gas transmission and distribution infrastructure. You will work on challenging projects that contribute to India's energy security and sustainability goals.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct mechanical engineering design and analysis for gas transmission and distribution systems.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to existing equipment and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the safe and efficient operation of gas facilities.
  • Provide technical support for maintenance and repair activities.
  • Prepare and review engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Participate in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and team members.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and standards.
  • Proficiency in using engineering software and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of successful project execution.
  • Experience with project management and team leadership.
Skills
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Strong analytical and numerical modeling skills.
  • Knowledge of ASME and API codes and standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
