Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain network solutions to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime and service disruptions.
- Conduct regular network performance analysis and capacity planning to anticipate and address network growth requirements.
- Implement and manage network security protocols and practices to safeguard Liberty Global's data and assets.
- Participate in technology evaluations and make recommendations for network hardware and software upgrades.
- Collaborate with vendors and partners to ensure the procurement and deployment of reliable network equipment.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and best practices.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior network engineers.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience as a network engineer or similar role, with a minimum of [X] years in a senior or lead capacity.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS.
- Experience with network virtualization technologies such as SDN and NFV.
- Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience
- 3 years of relevant experience in network engineering.
- Experience in a global telecommunications or broadband company is a plus.
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of networking technologies and protocols.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in network security practices.
- Familiarity with network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
- Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate across departments.
- Strong project management skills.
