Description
As a Network Engineer at BT Group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our network infrastructure. You will work in a dynamic and innovative environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain our network solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of network solutions.
- Implement security measures to protect the network from cyber threats.
- Perform regular network audits and make recommendations for improvements.
- Provide technical support to resolve network-related incidents.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and VLANs.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineering or a related role.
- Experience with Cisco or Juniper networking equipment.
- Familiarity with cloud networking solutions is a plus.
- Prior experience in a telecommunications company is advantageous.
Skills
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network devices.
- Strong understanding of network security principles.
- Knowledge of software-defined networking (SDN) is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
